The Comets continued their winning ways Monday night taking down RVC rival Monticello 3 sets to none by scores of 25-13, 25-20, 25-23. The sweep gives the Comets adds to the string of consecutive set wins to 12.
The Comet team tallied 38 kills with 31 of those having an assist. Defensively the Comets were solid with 41 digs and 5 blocks at the net. From the service line Bellevue went 66-71. On the night there were 8 Comet aces.
Sophomore Giana Michels had a solid night with 4 kills. 8 digs, a block and 15-16 serving to go with 2 aces. Emma Kelchen led the team in kills with 12, was 10-11 in serving, and had 2 aces. Rebecca Schroeder had 10 kills, 13 assists, 8 digs, and went 8-8 on the service line. Other categorical leaders include Marissa McAuliffe with 16 assists and Kylee Biedermann with 9 digs and 10-10 serving.
The Comets have a few days off before their next match, but will be in action on Sept 27 at Marquette for a non-conference matchup.
